Young Human Geneticists Networking Event

How to get to Feskekörka (Address: Fisktorget 4) From Svenska Mässan, there are two main options:

  • Private Bus: The most seamless way is to charter private buses to transport the group together directly to our door.
  • Public Transport (Tram): Take the tram from Korsvägen (located just outside the Fair) to Järntorget. Lines 1, 6, 9, or 11 usually run frequently and smoothly on this route.
    • Travel time: The tram ride takes approximately 10–12 minutes.
    • Walking: From Järntorget, it is a pleasant 5–10 minute walk to Feskekörka

Dear young colleagues,

This year ESHG-Young Committee would like to invite you to a special local venue, Feskekörka, a famous indoor fish market that opened in 1874. During the networking event, guests will be able to enjoy a selection of seafood specialties (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free options are available). We have also prepared games and quizzes with a local Swedish flavour for you.

The evening will be a great opportunity to meet fellow participants, exchange ideas, and enjoy a friendly atmosphere. Whether you are attending ESHG for the first time or returning again, we hope this event will help bring together colleagues and friends from across Europe and beyond.

Limited spots (200 only!) – open to trainees & early-career geneticists (within 4 years post-training).

Dress code: casual

Costs: EUR 36,- (includes a menu consisting of 8 items per person (2 of each kind). Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free options are available for each item; 2 drinks vouchers per person for alcoholic and non-alcoholic options).

No sponsoring is used to fund any part of the evening.

The networking evening is a great opportunity to meet with friends and colleagues from around the world in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying the unmatched local charm of the host city! Those who have shared this evening with us in previous years know, one would not want to miss it.

Tickets need to be purchased separately during the registration process. Please note that the number of tickets is limited and will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis.
